    DIY Garage Door Dent Repair

    The process is easy and most materials needed can be seen in your house or can be bought at any hardware shop.

    For the First Method, the materials you will need are:

    • Aluminum Foil
    • Heat source (Lighter or blower)
    • Compressed Air
    • Detergent/Dishwashing soap
    • Sponge (the one you use for cars)
    • Warm water

    Method Number One Process:

    1. Clean the dented area using warm water and the dish soap, then air dry or wipe it with a dry cloth.
    2. Cut the aluminum foil into strips and based on the size of the dent.
    3. Cover the dent with the strips of aluminum foil.
    4. With the heat source you’ve got, heat up the aluminum foil for a minute.
    5. Afterwards, take off the foil then use the compressed air to flatten the dent smoothly for 30 seconds.

    For the Second Method, the materials you will need are:

    • Detergent/Dishwashing soap
    • Sponge (the one you use for cars)
    • Warm water
    • A heavy duty block (Wooden if possible)
    • Rubber mallet
    • Scraper/Putty knife
    • Sand paper
    • Patching product
    • Primer
    • Paint

    Method Number Two Process:

    1. Using warm water and the soap, wash the dented area then air dry it.
    2. Put the heavy block on top of the dent and knock it using the rubbing mallet to reform the dent to its original shape.
    3. Smoothen the part using a sandpaper
    4. Then, use a patching product for covering and continue flattening it with the scraper.
    5. Apply a primer for finishing touch.
    6. Then when the area is dry, paint the garage door with the color you prefer.
